Sitting at home, talking to Lauren last night I had an epiphany……I watch way too much TV. Part of it is lack of things to do and being tired after work, but another large part of it is a lack of creativity.
So, I am taking a week off from TV. Now, this won’t be too difficult, it will just take some discipline. Oh, by the way, did I mention that I can still watch sports. Sports aren’t the things that concern me the most. It is the hours of mind numbing sitcoms that I watch, that I don’t even find funny anymore. I just watch them to watch them. I have gigabytes of crap stored on my DVR (in addition to the first three televised OSU games).
I think I am going to start Friday (not that the weekends really make that much of a difference, football all the time) and go through next weekend. I have already been contemplating what I am going to do with my extra time.
- 1. Wash and wax my car.
- 2. Read one of the 9 books in my queue
- 3. Maybe go buy some Legos or Lincoln logs….my go to toys as a kid.
- 4. Have dinner with a friend
- 5. Exercise out side
- 6. Go for a bike ride
- 7. Find a basketball court and play some
I think I will be much happier this way, but next week will be interesting.
Any other suggestions on what I can do?
Great idea. Just a little warning, Legos are expensive!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering if the way you double numbered your list above was you being "creative"? If so, I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to suggest scrapbooking. You could put together a nice scrapbook of ALL the pictures you and Lauren take! I'll put some scrapbooking supplies on your Christmas List!
I would love a scrapbook! Thanks for giving him the idea Nancy! I'm sure he will be sure to start working on it....
