NO TV

Sitting at home, talking to Lauren last night I had an epiphany……I watch way too much TV.  Part of it is lack of things to do and being tired after work, but another large part of it is a lack of creativity.

So, I am taking a week off from TV.  Now, this won’t be too difficult, it will just take some discipline.  Oh, by the way, did I mention that I can still watch sports.  Sports aren’t the things that concern me the most.  It is the hours of mind numbing sitcoms that I watch, that I don’t even find funny anymore.  I just watch them to watch them.  I have gigabytes of crap stored on my DVR (in addition to the first three televised OSU games).

I think I am going to start Friday (not that the weekends really make that much of a difference, football all the time) and go through next weekend.  I have already been contemplating what I am going to do with my extra time.

  1. 1.      Wash and wax my car.
  2. 2.      Read one of the 9 books in my queue
  3. 3.      Maybe go buy some Legos or Lincoln logs….my go to toys as a kid.
  4. 4.      Have dinner with a friend
  5. 5.      Exercise out side
  6. 6.      Go for a bike ride
  7. 7.      Find a basketball court and play some

I think I will be much happier this way, but next week will be interesting.

Any other suggestions on what I can do?

  1. Great idea. Just a little warning, Legos are expensive!

  2. I was just wondering if the way you double numbered your list above was you being "creative"? If so, I'm impressed.

I'd like to suggest scrapbooking. You could put together a nice scrapbook of ALL the pictures you and Lauren take! I'll put some scrapbooking supplies on your Christmas List!
