Our Boring Selves

I always remember as a kid, in about the third or fourth week or summer, thinking I was so bored.  I would be miserable.....the joy of no daily activity had worn off and I just wanted something to do.  I had soaked in enough sun and just wanted to sit and watch TV, all the while complaining about how I was bored.

The last few days, maybe a week, have almost been boring......and I love it!  Now, don't get confused (especially if my boss is reading) I don't always want to be bored, but sometimes boredom.....for a short period.....is relaxing.  Maybe it is my elder age (23 on Saturday), but it is nice to have a break.  Lauren is done with football season and I am done with our pretty busy work season.  I was in Stillwater/Tulsa for the weekend and we didn't really do anything except shop a bit and relax (of course attended two OSU sporting events, but what is any weekend without that).

It was great, because it seems like it has been a while since we can just relax with each other and have nothing to do.  Christmas is coming up, which means a prolonged break from school for Lauren and a couple days off work for me where we can hang out with family and each other.  Over Christmas break Lauren and I get to spend over a week together (with family of course), but it will be the longest we have spent together in a year (since I moved to Dallas) and we couldn't be more excited.  We are starting our break off correctly this weekend when we head to Jamaica with my brother and a couple of friends from work for the weekend!

All this to say, I will be ready when life gets un-boring again, and I am sure it will be soon.
