The Challenge

So.....I have been put to the test by my sister to speak about what I like to call my BFF a.k.a. blankie. Kyle is probably going to cringe through this whole post or may roll his eyes now and quit reading, but I wanted to follow through with her request to post about it. You can read her story here!

I will start off by saying that this by no means is normal to have a blankie at 21 years old, BUT I will not be giving it up either. Anywhere I have been so has my blanket. Seriously. It does not get left behind and NEVER will get left behind. I suppose this was one of the many tests that Kyle passed in order to be considered a keeper. Now what you need to know is he absolutely hates my blanket! The smell, the look, and the way I flaunt it everywhere. I am not ashamed one bit and it has actually become a big joke with his friends of who gets blankie....it is no joking matter to me because I don't trust them one second with it. Right Chapman and Jarrett?

Here is a list of my favorite things about it:
-It is my second pillow. I have to have it under my head just right in order to be able to fall asleep.
-I love it when it gets out of the dryer and is still warm. This doesn't happen very often and probably should because that is what contributes to the lovely smell Kyle talks about. Sorry, but it always smells fresh to me.
-I like how I can wear it around my neck like a scarf. This is usually what I do in situations when people are over. It looks natural. Ha.

-I love the fact that I can take it anywhere. Roll it up and throw it in a bag and I'm good to go.
-After 21 years it is still soft as can be.
-I love the fact that Canon has a blankie almost identical to mine except blue. Don't worry, I won't allow him to have it for long because he is a boy. Although...Kyle has one now, thanks to me. (Valentine's 08)

I have no shame, but I do apologize to whoever did not know about blankie and if this changes your opinion of me....don't let it. :)

Do you have any weird things we need to know about??

  1. Yay! It's so freeing, isn't it? I could get blankie if something ever happens to you seeing how I understand the love you have for it. One other thing i've noticed...you make lots of lists on here!

  2. 1. It isn't really that freeing because I usually tell anyone and everyone I have a blankie.
    2. If something did ever happen to me, I would hope to have it buried with me.
    3. I love making lists! Can't you tell?

  3. 1. I like making lists too.
    2. Umm . . . putting your 'blankie on like a scarf' is NOT fashion friendly. I'm just sayin . . .
    3. I get the blankie. I think it's great. I get you.
    4. I have Kyle's blankie which is a small blue square now because I cut it down slowly so he could detach from it. It looks very much like yours! I'll wrap it for Christmas. Shhhh.

  4. In no way do I condone you using a "blankie" at your advancing age. Having said that, Fisher is extremely protective of his phone, and it is always easy to get a rise out of him simply by touching it. I like that you have something like that too. Anytime I feel like messing with you and don't know what to do I know the blankie is always a good bet.

  5. Nancy, I appreciate that you get me! I think thats a great idea to re-gift his blankie for Christmas...I'm sure he has missed it.

Chapman, I'm glad you enjoy getting a rise out of me. I now know your secret, but it will always work no matter what.
